5 Things To Remember If Your Partner Ends Your Relationship

Whenever a relationship ends, you may experience loss, blame, and despair. During these difficult moments, you encounter tremendous vulnerability and shame. This is followed by resentment and anger. No matter how excruciating the moments get, please remember your greatness.

HERE ARE FIVE THINGS TO REMIND YOURSELF IF YOUR PARTNER ENDS THE RELATIONSHIP:

1. THE PAIN FROM A BREAKUP IS REAL.

Scientists at Columbia University in Manhattan, NY, have researched the brain of college students after a break-up using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). These findings have shown that when the participant is shown a picture of their ex-partner, the brain lights up just as it would through the exposure of physical pain.
You are not imagining the hurt and destitution. And, just like any physical ailment it takes time to heal. Your heart and your mind will recover. An unexpected breakup is distressing. The mind and body will need time to truly re-adjust to all the events surrounding it. Time is the best healer but do not put limitations and expectations on it. The worst thing you can do is rush the healing process.

2. YOU ARE WORTHY.

After a breakup we are left wondering, “What did I do? Was I not good enough?” Thoughts begin to create around your self-worth. You are worth more than a relationship ending. A lot of times it isn’t about what you did or didn’t do. Personalities clash. Relationships are powerful lessons and experiences. Instead of asking negative questions that bring your self-esteem down, why not ask, “What did I learn from this person?”
Focus on the good. You will carry the memories of your relationship with you onto other unions. Don’t allow what one person reflected on your emotional body to become the foundation for another relationship.

3. YOU GET TO PUSH A RESTART BUTTON.

Your world has just crashed. It’s been hard. You were blindsided. Step back and realize that this is a wonderful opportunity to start fresh. You don’t want to chase after someone who doesn’t recognize your vastness and greatness. You want to flourish and be happy. Make a list of things you have wanted to do but your partner did not. Go explore those parts that bring you joy.
When we are in relationships we forget to take care of ourselves. We are too busy trying to make sure the other person is happy. You are responsible for you. This is a wonderful time to redecorate your bedroom. Get a haircut. Start taking a painting class. You have the time to do those things that are on your bucket list. Don’t put them off any longer.

4. STOP TRYING TO SUBSTITUTE THE LOSS.

The devastation from heartache is profound. Do not reach for something to fill the space or the hurt. This is detrimental to your healing. You cannot heal when you immediately fall into another relationship. That cookie or bottles of booze won’t heal the ache either.
Therapy is a beautiful tool for allowing the emotions to come through in a productive manner. Meditation, yoga, and hiking are examples of positive venues for those times when it’s too much to sit alone in the dark thoughts of sorrow. Start a gratitude journal. Each day write down three things that have made you happy. Readjust the focus on something other than the finality of a relationship. You will be amazed how much better you will feel.

5. LOVE YOURSELF AND THE WORLD WILL SEE YOUR GREATNESS.

You know all that love you poured into that relationship? You know the way you prepared a meal with such gratitude? Why not do the same for yourself? When you begin to give yourself that kind of love and attention the world opens up to you saluting your magnificent nature. You are the best candidate for love. You know yourself better than anyone. You have created a world around you and just because someone walked out of it doesn’t mean that the world ends. Self-love is not selfish. Loving yourself is the most healing source of energy you will ever have.
Breakups, divorces, and even the loss from death, are life changing experiences in our lives. Mourn properly. Allow time to heal those parts of yourself that feel shattered and broken. Make the time and space to love yourself and connect to nature. Your physical, emotional and spiritual bodies will be glad you gave yourself the love that you so righteously deserve. Reach out to friends and family. You are not alone in this.
One of the best times for figuring out who you are & what you really want out of life? Right after a break-up.”~ Mandy Hale

Creating a water and baking soda mixture can be a great way to get rid of the problem without have to deal with the sugar in cough drops. All you have to do is to add a teaspoon of baking soda to a cup of warm water. Then stir the mixture until the baking soda dissolves. The alkalinity of the baking soda counteracts any acid buildups in your throat that might be causing discomfort.
It can treat kidney stones
Let’s face it, kidney stones are an absolute nightmare. That’s why if it ever comes up, you should grab some baking soda. When urine becomes too acidic, it can lead to the formation of kidney stones. Mixing some baking soda with water however, can keep the stones from forming and bring down the acidity of urine.

Just apply the paste to the affected area and you won’t be scratching in no time!
It can serve as a natural deodoran
If you want to avoid commercial deodorants that use chemicals or may even cause discomfort, the baking soda and water route might be perfect for you! All you need to do is mix half a cup of water with enough pinches of baking soda to turn the mixture into a paste. Apply the paste to your body and you’ll be deodorized with little effort!
It can give your hands an extra clean
Mothers hate dirty hands. And if your little one needs a powerful clean, putting the soap aside for some baking soda can be a great way to restore you hands back to cleanliness! Just mix three parts baking soda with one part water and scrub thoroughly. It will remove dirt away and deodorize your hands.

Widower Wants To Honor His Wife, Then He Reveals The Pink Bridge Behind Him

Larry and Pat Payne were married for over 50 years. The couple raised a family together and had a wonderful life, then Pat succumbed to breast cancer.
Just like that, Larry lost the love of his life.
To honor her, much like Don Jaquish did for his late wife Babbette, the widower built a bridge over a small creek at Bushnell Township Cemetery. The bridge has a pink roof — a symbol of Pat’s battle with breast cancer.
“Had a lady the other day say, ‘Well I don’t like the pink,’” Larry told KHQA. “And I said, ‘Well, maybe you just don’t understand that that pink is the cancer is what that means.’”
The bridge is made of a 40-foot semitrailer bed and natural oak. Pat and Larry’s daughter Christine says her father put his “heart and soul into it.”
Most who come to the cemetery may find the pink bridge a peculiar sight, they may not fully understand it, but if they look closer at the plaque inside and the pink ribbon made of chain, they’ll see that in the simplest of terms, the bridge is a monument of love.
“You know she’s smiling. I know she’s smiling. And she had one of the prettiest smiles… that’s what I said. I love my wife and there’s nobody that loves anybody anymore than I do her,” Larry said.
Please SHARE if you think the bridge was a beautiful tribute!

Husband Cheats With Young Secretary, Then Wife Plants Revenge In Mansion Before Moving Out

Sometimes, revenge seems like the most tempting solution to being betrayed by a loved one.
You’re about to read a story that has been circulating online for many years. Readers from all over the world have fallen in love with this urban legend that ends with a twist of sweet revenge.
The story begins with Jake and Edith, who were married for 37 years. Edith was shocked when, after nearly four decades of marriage, Jake dumped her for his young secretary.
As if that wasn’t brutal enough, Jake and his new girlfriend kicked Edith out of her own multi-million dollar mansion.
But in the midst of the bitter divorce, Jake had no idea Edith had a special surprise for the happy couple in their beautiful home.
Instead of playing the victim, Edith hatched a brilliant plan that would come to fruition in due time…

After 37 years of marriage, Jake dumped his wife for his young secretary.
His new girlfriend demanded that they live in Jake and Edith’s multi-million dollar home. Since the man’s lawyers were better, he prevailed.
He gave Edith, now his ex-wife, just three days to move out. She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates, and suitcases.
On the second day, she hired movers to come and collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.

When she had finished eating, she went into each and every room and stuffed half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar into the hollow of all of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.
When Jake returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days.
Then, slowly the house began to smell. They tried their best to clean, mop, and air the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents and carpets were cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters. During this time the couple had to move out for a few days.
In the end, they even had to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked.
Their friends stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. Even the maid quit.
Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.
A month later, they still couldn’t find a buyer for their house, which now reeked heavily.

Word about the house got out, and eventually even the local realtors refused to return their calls. Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.
The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told her of the rotting state the house was in. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly.
She then said that she would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement if the house was returned to her.
Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was about 10 percent of what the house had been worth, but only if she were to sign the papers that very day.
She agreed, and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later, the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home.
They even took the curtain rods.
Please SHARE if you loved Edith’s triumph as much as I did!

She Pours Baking Soda All Over Her Mattress..30 Seconds Later? I Can’t Believe My Eyes!

Because of the fact that we spend about 1/3 of our lives in bed, keeping the sheets and blankets clean on a regular basis is often a necessary chore, but what about taking care of our mattresses? Chances are, you may rotate your mattress a few times per year, which should extend the shelf-life of your bed, but how often do you actually clean your mattress? The average person will do this maybe once or twice a year (or not at all), and you may be shocked to find out how much filth you’re accumulating on an annual basis, and remember, this is where you sleep!

Melissa Maker of Clean My Space sheds some light on how much we shed in our beds while we sleep, and it may rattle your cage a little. She tells us that the average person perspires about a half-pint every night, which can soak through your sheets and into your mattress; and not only that, we also shed approximately a pound-and-a-half of skin on an annual basis. When combined with occasional spills and wear-and-tear from pets, your mattress can take a dirty beating.

In this video clip, Melissa shows us how to vacuum our mattresses with an upholstery tool before sprinkling baking soda (a natural deodorizer) across the surface of the bed. After about 30 minutes, vacuum the surface and voila! That certain musty aroma that used to emanate from your mattress should be virtually nonexistent. Melissa also offers other tips on how to keep your space clean and smelling fresh. You may sleep better after following these simple instructions, and she also offers tips on how to remove stains as well. Sweet dreams!

Little Girl Tells Dad A Valuable Lesson And Leaves Him Surprised

Dad Teaches Daughter Valuable Lesson

Any man with a daughter dreads certain things. Well, correction, A NUMBER of certain things. We’re all on the same page here, yeah? Anyway, despite the fact that most would prefer it if these things came later rather than sooner, the facts of life dictate that these events will indeed come, and some will come before others. Let’s all just hope and pray that we aren’t so unlucky as to be stuck in a car when they do! That’s exactly what happened when one dad picked his young daughter up from school one fateful day…

As any father would, he asked his daughter what she’d learned in school that day. Since she was still only in grade school, he assumed he’d be regaled with stories of the ABCs and learning the value of sharing. You know what they say about assuming, right?
His little girl, brimming with excitement, couldn’t wait to tell him!
“Today,” she said proudly, “we learned that boys are different from girls!”
Looking in the rear view mirror, the father could only see his daughter’s hair — she was still so little.
“My teacher said that boys have a thing that girls don’t,” she continued.
“Ah…yes, well that is true,” the father said, a little daunted. Unable to think of anything further to say, he anxiously let the car descend into silence…and then his daughter started talking again.
“See, that’s how girls know that boys ARE boys,” she said. “They see this little thing that hangs down and know: that is a boy!”
As she was saying all this, the father was frantically calculating in his head just how long they had between where they were and home. His conclusion: literally an eternity!
“Did you know that boys swell up when they see a girl?” she asked, innocently.
At this point, the dad’s hands had grown slick on the steering wheel as his palms began to sweat.
“I, ah, um…well…” he stammered, desperately trying to think of something, ANYTHING to say that might change the topic.
Then, she dropped the bomb!

“Daddy, why do girls like boys to have this thing?”
“Good lord,” the father thought. “What should I say? Hasn’t every woman asked that question at one point or another?”
“Oh…well, umm…you see sweetie…”
But the little girl didn’t even wait for his answer!

“It’s because it waggles when they walk, so the girl knows that this is a boy and that she likes him. Then, the boy sees the girl and he swells up, and then the girl knows that he ALSO likes her,” she explained. “Then they get married, and then they get cooked!”
‘Well, uncomfortable,” thought Dad, “but not wrong.”
Though the ending confused him slightly (cooked?), the father considered it and thought that maybe it was a good thing that his daughter knew the beginner’s birds and bees.
As they arrived home, the little girl fished something out of her school backpack and said, “Daddy, I drew a picture of what we learned at school today, wanna see?”
While he wasn’t totally sure that he did, the father glanced down out of curiosity at the drawing his daughter was proudly holding up. When he saw what she had made, he had to sit down.
Scrawled across the paper, in all his woman-enticing glory, was a detailed crayon drawing of a large, male turkey! His snood (the red thing that dangles over the male’s beak), the thing that female turkeys find oh-so-irresistible, was magnificently drawn, his tail feathers stood tall and proud.
The little girl got offended because her father laughed so hard at her drawing, laughed until he cried, in fact, but he reassured her that he really loved her drawing, and she soon forgot about his laughter.
The father, however, would never be able to get that turkey out of his head!

She Cut A Hole In The Crotch Of Her Leggings Then Look What She Does With Them! Wow!

Want a crop top but don't feel like buying a new one? Perhaps you're just really into recycling rather than throwing stuff away. Well guess what? One DIY fashion guru by the name of Handimania can show you how to reincarnate those old leggings into a cute new top. It's so addictive that you'll want to turn all of your leggings into tops, and then you'll be sad because you won't have any leggings. But that's okay because at least you'll get to sport a cool new crop top. Just make sure to wash them first so that the neckline doesn't smell like old crotch.

So you rummaged through your closet and couldn't find one cute crop top.

That's alright. You just need to grab a pair of old leggings. Changing them into a top isn't really that hard to do.

There's a super easy fashion trick that you can do at home.

All you need are a pair of scissors and a pair of leggings you wouldn't think twice about using ever again

Now you're ready to get started.

The idea is to cut a hole in the crotch of your leggings.

First off, you have to fold the leggings together.

But do make sure that they're symmetrical and even or you'll wind up with some undesirable results.

Don't just start cutting blindly.

Make sure and mark the semi circle along the crotch area first.

It's cutting time, but watch out for those fingers.

Take your scissors and cut out the crotch. It's best that you try cutting in a crescent shape.

Don't worry about the leggings fraying too quickly.

It will take several washes, especially if the leggings are made with knits. Of course if you have leggings that are made with fleece, that would be the best choice of fabric.

If you're a perfectionist, there's a great way to add a finishing touch to your crop top.

Finish the edge with a zig-zag stitch or serge it to make it clean, nice and neat. If your arms are a little shorter than your legs, then cut them... we mean the fabric. That way you'll get a perfect fit.

Now you're ready to try it on and rock a few pictures wearing it.

And voila! Just like that you stick your head in the hole, place your arms where you legs would have gone and you've got yourself one kickass crop top.

There's an even cooler solution if you're planning on wearing your top in the middle of summer.

Just roll up your sleeves and you'll have a crop top that you can wear in any temperature.

Check out this video to figure out how you can turn your leggings into a cool 80's style crop top.

Why Most Women Wash Their Hair Wrong and How It Causes Hair Damage

You wash it, brush it, blow-dry it, straighten it, curl it, and/or put all kinds of products in it. There's no question your hair goes through the ringer on any given day. Before you know it, your tresses can show signs of damage, from split ends to uncontrollable frizz—and the older we get, the more it naturally thins out and looks dull or damaged, even without over-processing, says Elisa Hills, co-founder of the hair care line BLNDN.
The good news is you can reverse the damage. Your game plan: Stopcommitting these common mistakes, and follow the fixes recommended by top stylists to bring your hair back to life.

In the Shower

1. You Wash Your Hair Every Day

As a general rule, hair should be washed as often as needed, says Amy Abramite, creative director and stylist at Maxine Salon in Chicago. For most stylists we talked to, that’s every two to three days. Any more, and you risk stripping your hair of its natural, protective oils that keep it shiny and healthy, Hills says. This is especially true for people who color their hair, as over-washing can dull the vibrancy of their color, says Constantine James, a celebrity hair and makeup expert in Chicago.
Of course, there are other factors involved. If you work out and sweat a lot, you may not be able to wait three days, Abramite says. In that case, try rinsing with water, scrubbing the scalp, and conditioning your ends only, says Paul Norton, a Joico celebrity hair stylist in Los Angeles.
If you’re dealing with a super oily scalp, look into a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, James says. It sounds counterintuitive, but your body may be producing more oil due to dryness—attempting to naturally fix the problem. Second, invest in some dry shampoo to extend the time between washes. James likes TRESemme Fresh Start ($6.09; drugstore.com), which soaks up oil and gets rid of odor—without any weird powdery residue.

2. You Use Too Much Conditioner

To avoid greasy strands, apply conditioner on the ends of the hair, where it truly needs hydration—not the scalp, Abramite says. Start with an amount about the size of a dime (yes, a tiny dime), and try to disperse it evenly throughout the hair. If needed, up the amount, but never exceed a quarter size. “If you're using a half-dollar size of product, you will definitely be spending a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner and not doing much for your hair,” James says.

3. … and the Wrong Shampoo

Sulfates, the cleansing agents in shampoos, “have become the gluten of the hair world,” says Erika Wasser, founder and CEO of Glam & Go. There’s a lot of hype around ‘em—some of it valid, some not.
While they don't pose any serious health hazards, some people find these chemicals dry out hair, skin, and scalp, or strip away color, Abramite says. If you’re seeing tangling, frizziness, and split ends, try a sulfate-free shampoo, which can clean your hair gently. Just keep in mind it won’t get as sudsy as a regular shampoo, she says.

4. You Never Use a Deep Conditioner

It may sound like an unnecessary step, but the pros we spoke with all recommend using a deep conditioner—especially if your hair is dry, damaged, or split from coloring or heat styling, Abramite says. Use a treatment, like Joico's K-PAK Reconstructor ($19.99; joico.com), at least once per week, Norton says. “Get in the habit of pampering your hair, and you’ll notice it behaves and looks better.”
It’s a non-negotiable if you color or process your hair, Hills says. “Use a deep conditioner the week leading up to and after any chemical process—it’ll help prepare your hair for battle, seal the hair cuticle, and prevent breakage.” And contrary to what many people with thin or fine hair fear, the right mask will not weigh your hair down, says Hills, who recommends BLNDN's Repair You mask ($48; blndn.com).

5. You've Been Using the Same Shampoo and Conditioner Since High School

Wasser likens your hair-washing routine to your workout: “By spin class 2,567, your body's pretty used to it,” she says. Similarly, your hair gets used to shampoo and conditioner—and then the products start to leave behind a residue. If you're loyal to one routine, she suggests using Neutrogena's Anti-Residue Shampoo ($4.72; amazon.com) once every month or so to give your hair a clean slate.
If you're more non-committal, keep a few different formulas in the shower to use depending on how your hair feels, Wasser suggests. Feeling dry? Work in a deep conditioner. If it's feeling limp, use a lighter formula. Frizzier than usual? Use a moisturizing one. "You know your hair—listen to what it needs," she says.

After the Shower

6. You Brush Your Hair When It's Wet

Wet hair is much weaker than dry hair, so treat it carefully. One of the worst things you can do is tug a brush through it, forcing tangles apart, Wasser says. Instead, try brushing your hair before hopping in the shower to work out knots and air out the roots, James says.
During your shower, consider using a wide-toothed comb to work the conditioner through your strands. After, use a comb to work out tangles from the bottom, working your way up to the roots for the least damage, Norton suggests. Bottom line: Use a brush only on dry hair and a wide-toothed comb on wet hair.

7. You Roughly Towel Dry

This isn’t the worst you can do, but it’s definitely not the best. After showering, don’t vigorously rub your hair with a towel—gently blot instead, Abramite says. “Blotting will not rough up the cuticle and cause frizz.” Want to go the extra mile? Use a paper towel to dry your hair. Norton says this is the most gentle, if not the most practical, method possible.

8. You Use Too-Hot Tools

Whether your hair is fine and thin or coarse and thick will determine which heat setting will get the job done, Abramite says. So it’s fortunate that most hot tools, like straighteners and curling irons, come with adjustable temperature settings.
Don't crank it to the hottest setting right off the bat. Wasser says to start at 300 degrees. If you're getting the desired results, stay there. If not, gradually turn up the heat until you do. Typically coarse hair requires higher temps than fine hair. And no matter what, always use a heat protector (more on that soon). As for those wet-to-dry hot tools intended for use on damp hair? They're a no-go: "Never use hot tools on wet hair," Abramite says. "It can burn the hair."

9. You Skip Heat Protectant

These get a 100-percent “yes” from the stylists. “It’s like asking if you need an oven mitt to pull something out of the oven,” Wasser says. Spraying a heat protector on your hair proactively protects hair from heat damage, plus it seals in shine, calms frizz, and keeps hair from becoming dry, Abramite says. She likes L'Oreal Sleek It Iron Straight Heatspray ($4.99; ulta.com). Wasser recommends Redken Satinwear ($19; ulta.com) or Redken Pillow Proof Primer ($24; ulta.com).

10. You Use Too Many Styling Products

You only need three products, Abramite says: a protectant, a styling product (like a mousse for volume or an anti-frizz cream for sleekness), and a finishing product (like hair or texture spray). Use cremes and oils sparingly, Wasser says, and only apply to the mid-shaft through ends—a little goes a long way.

At the Salon

11. You Avoid Haircuts

While the six-week rule is definitely not set in stone, most people need a trim about every three months; for others, it's shorter or longer, Wasser says.

Trying to grow out your hair? As soon as you start to notice split ends or the ends seem "see-through" or brittle, it's time to take action. "The damage will just continue up the shaft, so by the time you [eventually] go for a cut, you'll end up having to cut more than you would have if you'd just bitten the bullet with the trim," Wasser says.

Really afraid to take off length? Ask for a "dusting," James says. Yes, it’s a thing. "This technique is to go through sections and lightly—just about a millimeter length—clean up your ends."

12. You Overdo Chemical Treatments
Allow yourself two per year at most (aside from coloring), Norton says. "I don't believe the chemicals are harmless, and they aren't great to breathe in on a regular basis." James also suggests spending your money on heat protectors, irons, and conditioning treatments instead of relaxing or straightening treatments.

If you must, only do relaxers every six to eight weeks, or ideally, up to 12 weeks. The more frequently you do it, the greater the chance of breakage or damage, says Tina Deeke, a color specialist at Maxine Salon.

13. You Don't Correctly Describe What You Want
The most important thing to remember before you visit your stylist: Bring photos. And be careful of buzzwords: "Just because you're describing what you think is a 'natural' look with 'warm undertones,' doesn't mean the stylist is on the same page," Hills says.

Moreover, listen to—and trust—your stylist. If they say something is tough to do with your hair type, believe them—they're usually right, Hills says. And ask them about the upkeep involved with any particular style or color. Be clear about how much time you want to dedicate to your hairstyle, whether you're open to using products, and how many, James says. If it sounds like too much work, it probably is.
